  1. The best homemade gift I ever received was from 2 grandmother’s and they both made quilts. One of them sewed all the pieces together to by hand to make a quilt and the other used her hands and sewing machine.

    My mom made my Christmas stocking when I was a little girl… I still use it!

  40. My favorite handmade gift was two parts. One was a crocheted castle my grandmother created and the other is the frame that it came in that was created by my uncle. It’s a beautiful reminder of my crafty roots!

  41. This is a tough question. They all have been meaningful. Perhaps the year my grandmother sent homemade stuffed animals to my little sisters after my father spent half the Christmas money they sent on himself. My older sister and I got new coats with the other half. Another time would be when my grandmother helped me make my own funshine bear.

  42. I am just learning to crochet so I am excited to see and learn new patterns.
    My Mom crotchets and has made my afghans that I love to keep my warm on those cold winter nights.

My grandmother crocheted me a pair of mittens and hat that were reversible and she used the colors of my high school so I could wear Blue or Orange or one of each for the mittens and I could wear the hat Orange with a rolled blue cuff or Blue with a rolled Orange cuff. No one else had anything like it and I was envied by everyone. My grandmother was the coolest.

  50. My favorite homemade gift was a quilt my mom made when I went to college.

  51. A friend grew me a wondowbox of sweatpeas from seeds. They are my fave flower!

  52. A scarf my friend knitted. I tried to knit, but could never get the hang of it. I’d rather sew or scrap or stamp. 🙂
