I can’t believe we are now halfway done with our Mystery Afghan! I am loving the way mine looks and how fast it is coming together! So here is the skinny on this project.. It is 12 weeks of crocheting, each weeks link is posted for safe keeping in the Crochet with Me!! tab at the top of the page…  You start with the Material List  .. Lots of great details about how the CAL works and the great Grand Prize Giveaway from our friends at Red Heart Yarns!!

This weeks stitches:

  • St – Stitch
  • Sl St – Slip Stitch
  • Ch – Chain
  • Sk – Skip
  • Blsc – Back Loop Single Crochet
  • Blhdc – Back Loop Half Double Crochet
  • Bldc – Back Loop Double Crochet
  • Sc – Single Crochet
  • Dc – Double Crochet
  • V St – V Stitch: Dc, ch 1, dc all in one designated stitch.

This Week’s Size:

44″ x 53″ smoothed, but not stretched

*This week we will be only working on the Right Side(side with texture).. No turning

Join Color A in the Righthand long side corner stitch

Round 37: Ch 1, 3 blsc in same st, blsc in next 3 sts, *blhdc in next st, bldc in next st, blhdc in next st, blsc in next 5 sts*, repeat *to* 15 more times, {blhdc in next st, bldc in next st, blhdc in next st, blsc in next 3 sts, 3 blsc in next st, blsc in next 3 sts}, repeat *to* 12 times, repeat {to} 1 time, repeat *to* 16 times, repeat {to} 1 time, repeat *to* 12 times, blhdc in next st, bldc in next st, blhdc in next st, blsc in next 3 sts, join with sl st in bl of beginning blsc. =316 blsc, 120 blhdc & 60 bldc

Round 38: Ch 2, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 139 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 107 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 139 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 106 sts, join with sl st to bl in top of beginning ch 2. = 504 blhdc

Finish off

Join Color B in the Righthand long side corner stitch

Round 39: Ch 2, 2 blhdc in same st, blhdc in next 141 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 109 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 141 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 109 sts, join with sl st to bl in top of beginning ch 2. = 512 blhdc

Finish off

Join Color C in the Righthand long side corner stitch

Round 40: Ch 2, 2 blhdc in same st, blhdc in next 143 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 111 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 143 sts, 3 blhdc in next st, blhdc in next 111 sts, join with sl st to bl in top of beginning ch 2. = 520 blhdc

Round 41: Sl st in next st(this will be the corner st), ch 3, 4 dc in same st, sk st, *V st in next st, sk 2 sts*, repeat *to* 47 more times, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, repeat *to* 37 times, 5 dc in next st, sk st, repeat *to* 48 times, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, repeat *to* 37 times, join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. = 20 dc & 170 V sts

Finish off

Join Color B in the Righthand long side corner stitch

*Tip for Round 42, when you have a V st, the combination of the (Dc,ch 1,Dc) all counts as a Stitch Section. When you skip a stitch after the V st, do not count the V St section, skip the next actual stitch.
 

Round 42: Ch 3, 4 dc in same st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 48 V sts, V st in next st, sk st, 5 dc in next st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 37 sts, V st in next st, sk st, 5 dc in next st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 48 V sts, V st in next st, sk st, 5 dc in next st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 37 V sts, V st in next st, sk st, join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. = 20 dc & 178 V sts

Finish off

Join Color A in the Righthand long side corner stitch

Round 43: Ch 3, 4 dc in same st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 50 V sts, V st in next st, sk st, 5 dc in next st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 39 sts, V st in next st, sk st, 5 dc in next st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 50 V sts, V st in next st, sk st, 5 dc in next st, sk st, V st in next st, V st in next 39 V sts, V st in next st, sk st, join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. = 20 dc & 186 V sts

That is it.. you now are done with Week 6 and halfway done!!!
