Granny Is On The Way!

Granny Is On The Way!

Ahhh…. The weekend!  Last night I started my new Sunburst Granny Square Blanket.

If you’re like me, Crochet may be an obsession….  I worked for a couple of hours and Voila’… 60 Granny Squares are on the way!  This was an easy pattern to work up… If you want a “Granny” to come your way, you can find the pattern on ravelry.com- Sunburst Granny Squares, by Priscilla’s Crochet.

Six complete of the  Sixty,,, 10% done : )

Well, it’s Saturday night and I think it’s time for a movie with the family and a little crocheting!  We are going to watch Skyfall, and what girl doesn’t want to watch Daniel Craig???  I’ll let you know what I think… So this Granny has to get going on her Granny’s…lol!  Yes, I have two wonderful grandkids… they get a lot of what I crochet… But remember,,,,  This project is for me (so far)…

Just Another Friday Night!

Just Another Friday Night!

SO… It’s Friday Night and time to put my feet up!  I had been thinking all day what I wanted to work on tonight.  It seems like I am always making things for someone else or something to sell… I decided it was ME time!!! But, what did I want to make for myself??

It’s been so long since I’ve done that, the thought of it was a little overwhelming.   I scanned my favorite sites and blogs for ideas and finally I decided on a Granny Square Blanket… I have thought about it for years and now it’s time!

I found a great pattern on Ravelry… Sunburst Granny Squares by Priscilla’s Crochet.    I gathered up my stash and my favorite hook and now it’s time to get started!

Check back to see my progress!

Love of Crochet

It just seemed fitting that today I would begin my new journey and write about my love for crochet.  When I was 10, my grandmother Beatrice Ryan Ramshaw ( A Little Irish Powerhouse) taught me her love of crocheting…. My first project was a Purple Granny Square Blanket…At 10, I think every girl loves purple!

Over the years I have made and designed hundreds of crochet projects and would love to bring some of my ideas to life for you to enjoy!  I no longer have that Purple Blanket, but soon I will be posting pictures and patterns.  I hope to leave a legacy for the art of crochet to continue for many generations.  Both of my daughters Nicole 28 and Mackenzie 16 have taken up this family hobby and I couldn’t be more thrilled!  So here is to the Love of Crochet!

I made these Heart Brooch’s and they can be found at Alpine Originals in Mt. Shasta
