Thick & Quick Round Bumpy Scrubby

If you loved the original Thick & Quick Bumpy Scrubby, you will love it in the ROUND too!!!  Just as easy and quick to make, this free crochet pattern makes a great gift and kitchen accessory.  You can also use this in the bath with your favorite bar of soap…  Made using 2 strands of cotton yarn, it is thick and plush.  You can also try holding 1 strand of cotton yarn and one strand of acrylic or wool to make a different texture!

Materials:

Cotton Yarn~ 2 colors, approx. 100 yards of each. I used Lily’s Cream and Sugar

Hook~ I

Scissors

 

Size:  

7″ Diameter

 

Stitches:

Sc ~ Single Crochet

Ch ~ Chain

Trc ~ Triple Crochet

St ~ Stitch

Sl St ~ Slip Stich

Instructions:

Holding 2 strands of yarn together…

Row 1:  6 sc in magic circle, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 6 sc

Row 2:  Ch 1, turn, (sc, trc) in each st around, join with sl st to beginning sc. – 6 sc & 6 trc

Row 3:  Ch 1, turn, sc in st, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 18sc

Row 4:  Ch 1, turn, sc in st, trc in next st, (sc, trc) in next st, *sc in next st, trc in next st, (sc, trc) in next st*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 12 sc & 12 trc

Row 5:  Ch 1, turn, sc in st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 30 sc

Row 6:  Ch 1, turn, sc in st, trc in next st, sc in next st, trc in next st, (sc,trc) in next st, *sc in next st, trc in next st, sc in next st, trc in next st, (sc, trc) in next st*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 18 sc & 18 trc

Row 7:  Ch 1, turn, sc in st, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st)*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 42 sc

Row 8:  Ch 1, turn, sc in st, sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to beginning sc. = 48 sc

That’s it.. You now have a Thick & Quick Round Bumpy Scrubby!!!

Wasn’t that fun??? This is another 30 minute or less project.. Great way to come up with a last-minute gift… Pair it with a bottle of your favorite dish soap or bar of luxury soap for a great gift set!!

Sugar Wheel Baby Blanket CAL… Week 5!!

If you decided to make your Sugar Wheel Baby Blanket larger, Week 5 is the final week of the CAL.. I loved the way my larger blanket turned out.  It is an average throw size now… 58″ across… Perfect for sitting on the sofa with a lightweight cover!!  Thank you for joining me for this Crochet Along!!!

For the final result in week five, I used 4 Skeins of Bernat Pop in Paisley Pop a total of 1100 yards. I loved the results!

Row 30: Ch 3, dc in next 12 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 13 sts, (ch2,picot,ch2) around next ch 5, * dc in next 13 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 13 sts, (ch2,picot,ch2) around next ch 5 sp*, repeat *to* around , join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. = 336 dc & 12 (ch2,picot,ch2)

Row 31: Ch 3, dc in next 13 sts, dc in-between  the 2 dc’s in the previous round, dc in next 14 sts, ch 5, *dc in next 14 sts, dc in-between the 2 dc’s in the previous round, dc in next 14  sts, ch 5*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. =348 dc & 12 ch5 sps

Row 32: Ch 3, dc in next 13 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 14 sts, (ch2,picot,ch2) around next ch 5, * dc in next 14 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 14 sts, (ch2,picot,ch2) around next ch 5 sp*, repeat *to* around , join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. = 360 dc & 12 (ch2,picot,ch2)

Row 33: Ch 3, dc in next 14 sts, dc in-between  the 2 dc’s in the previous round, dc in next 15 sts, ch 5, *dc in next 15 sts, dc in-between the 2 dc’s in the previous round, dc in next 15 sts, ch 5*, repeat *to* around, join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. =372 dc & 12 ch5 sps

Row 34: Ch 3, dc in next 14 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 15 sts, 5 dc in ch 5 sp, *dc in next 15, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 15 sts, 5 dc in ch 5 sp*, repeat *to* around, join to top of beginning ch 3. =444 dc

Row 35:  Reverse sc in each st around, join with sl st to beginning. = 444 reverse sc

Finish off and block into place.

Orange Squeeze Indoor/Outdoor Rug

 

Fun, easy to make and very versatile… This Orange Squeeze Indoor-Outdoor Rug is made using Bernat Maker Outdoor Yarn and the Moss Stitch.  It is fade resistant, soft and easy to work with!  You can use this rug by your favorite outdoor set, in a bathroom, kitchen or any room in your home.  This free crochet pattern can also be a companion piece to my Lazy Daze Lawn Chair Cover that is made using the same yarn in a self striping colorway!

Materials:

Yarn ~ 2 – Bernat Maker Outdoor Yarn in Oranges (249 yds ea) 475 Yards total

Hook ~ N

Stitches: 

St ~ Stitch

Sk ~ Skip

Ch ~ Chain

Sc ~ Single Crochet

Dc ~ Double Crochet

Size:

22″ x 36″

Instructions:

Ch 62

Row 1:  Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each across. = 61 sc

Row 2:  Ch 1, turn, *sc in 1st st, ch 1, sk st, sc in next st*, repeat *to* across. = 31 sc & 30 ch 1

Row 3:  Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st 2 sts, *ch 1, sk st, sc in next st*, repeat across, sc in last st. = 32 sc & 29 ch 1

Rows 4- 14: Repeat rows 2 & 3, then row 2 once more.

Row 15:  Ch 3(counts as dc now and throughout), turn, *dc in next st, ch 1, sk st*, repeat *to* across, dc in last 2 sts. = 32 dc & 29 ch 1.

Rows 16 – 80: Repeat rows 2 & 3, then row 2 once more.

Row 81: Repeat row 15

Rows 82 – 94: Repeat rows 2 & 3

Row 95: Ch 1, sc in each st across. = 61 sc

That’s it, You now have a Orange Squeeze Indoor/Outdoor Rug!

You can make this rug wider by adding increments of 2 chains at a time and to make it longer, you can add more rows of  2 & 3 in the center.
