Orange Squeeze Indoor/Outdoor Rug

 

Fun, easy to make and very versatile… This Orange Squeeze Indoor-Outdoor Rug is made using Bernat Maker Outdoor Yarn and the Moss Stitch.  It is fade resistant, soft and easy to work with!  You can use this rug by your favorite outdoor set, in a bathroom, kitchen or any room in your home.  This free crochet pattern can also be a companion piece to my Lazy Daze Lawn Chair Cover that is made using the same yarn in a self striping colorway!

Let’s get started!

Materials:

Yarn ~ 2 – Bernat Maker Outdoor Yarn in Oranges (249 yds ea) 475 Yards total

Hook ~ N

Stitches: 

St ~ Stitch

Sk ~ Skip

Ch ~ Chain

Sc ~ Single Crochet

Dc ~ Double Crochet

Size:

22″ x 36″

Instructions:

Ch 62

Row 1:  Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each across. = 61 sc

Row 2:  Ch 1, turn, *sc in 1st st, ch 1, sk st, sc in next st*, repeat *to* across. = 31 sc & 30 ch 1

Row 3:  Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st 2 sts, *ch 1, sk st, sc in next st*, repeat across, sc in last st. = 32 sc & 29 ch 1

Rows 4- 14: Repeat rows 2 & 3, then row 2 once more.

Row 15:  Ch 3(counts as dc now and throughout), turn, *dc in next st, ch 1, sk st*, repeat *to* across, dc in last 2 sts. = 32 dc & 29 ch 1.

Rows 16 – 80: Repeat rows 2 & 3, then row 2 once more.

Row 81: Repeat row 15

Rows 82 – 94: Repeat rows 2 & 3

Row 95: Ch 1, sc in each st across. = 61 sc

That’s it, You now have a Orange Squeeze Indoor/Outdoor Rug!

You can make this rug wider by adding increments of 2 chains at a time and to make it longer, you can add more rows of  2 & 3 in the center.

Lazy Daze Lawn Chair Cover… This simple chevron pattern is made using Bernat Maker Outdoor Yarn.  This awesome yarn is available in JoAnn Craft Stores and comes in Solid or Self-Striping bright colors.  It is fade and mold resistant and I really loved the way this yarn worked up… It is soft and cushy!!!

If you have old or uncomfortable lawn chairs, this is the perfect project to make your Summer space fun and bright!!

Let’s get started…

Materials:

Yarn ~ For each chair cover you will need 2 skeins of Bernat Maker Outdoor Yarn(249 yards ea). I used Fresh Orange Stripes *Thank you to Yarnspirations for sending me this beautiful yarn to make and share this project!*

Hook ~ N

Scissors

Chair Cover Size:

16″ x 35″

Stitches:

St-Stitch

Sk-Skip

Ch-Chain

Dc-Double Crochet

X St – Sk st, dc in next st, dc in previous sk st.

Instructions:

Ch 48

Row 1:  Dc in 3rd ch from hook, *dc in next 6 sts, sk 2 sts, dc in next 6 sts, 3 dc in next st*, repeat *to* 1 more time, dc in next 6 sts, sk 2 sts, dc in next 6 sts, 2 dc in last st. = 46 dc

Row 2:  Ch 2(counts as dc now and throughout), dc in same st, *3 X sts, sk 2 sts, 3 X sts, 3 dc in next st*, repeat *to* 1 more time, 3 X sts, sk 2 sts, 3 X sts, 2 dc in last st. = 18 X sts & 10 dc

Rows 3 – 38: Repeat row 2.

Finish off

Cut 5 – 6″ pieces . Tie the Lazy Day chair cover on using  3 at the top in each point and 2 on the bottom 2 corners.

That’s it!!!  You now have a Lazy Daze Lawn Chair Cover… Make as many as you want!!!

You can make the Lazy Daze Lawn Chair Cover wider by adding 16 chains at a time and wider by adding more rows.

Yarn ~ Bernat Baby Blanket Tiny – 2 Skeins each of Tea Rose and Polar Bear (316 yds each) total 1264 yards. This is a worsted weight yarn.

Row 1:  Dc in 2nd ch from hook,* dc in next 6 chs, sk 2 chs, dc in next 6 chs, 3 dc in next ch*, repeat * to * 6 more times, dc in next 6 chs, sk 2 sts, dc in next 6 chs, 2 dc in last st. = 121 dc changing colors as indicated below:
