Small Steps…

.

I am so excited today is here!  All the hard work making tons of crochet projects for my display at Alpine Originals for the Art Walk this evening… And now I  get to show it all off!  I couldn’t resist last night making a couple new items though!!!  I thought I would make one more pair of Skimmer Slippers using the pattern I bought a couple of years ago over at hookcandy.com… The pair I made a few days ago already had sold and I thought it would be nice to make one more pair for the Art Walk…

.

I couldn’t resist the temptation of something new… I had been talking to my Sister-In-Law Laura a couple of weeks ago about the pattern and we were saying how much we both love making these slippers,,, She then told me she had also purchased the children’s pattern and LOVED it!  So… I hopped over to  Hook Candy and purchased the children’s pattern!   I couldn’t wait to get home to give it a try… They were so easy and quick,,, I whipped these up in just a couple of hours and they will be the final touch for my display… Debbie at Alpine Originals had just mentioned how much people liked seeing Baby Items in the store!  We live in such a small town,,, Sometimes it’s hard to find what you need,,, Now,, They can find Baby Skimmer Slippers!

The Patriotic Owl and His Cute Friend!

.

I don’t want to bore you with the same projects back to back,,, But,,, Yesterday after I dropped off the Owl Hat at Alpine Original,,, Debbie (My good friend and Owner) messaged me to let me know… It sold as soon as she put it up on the display… We had been talking about what else I should try to whip up for my display before Friday’s Artwalk,,, I had a few ideas of some easy, cute projects that would fill in the spaces… Maybe another pair of Skimmer Slippers,,, Some Patriotic Potholders,,,

.

Well,,,With the news of the Owl Hat selling right off the bat,,, The answer was easy… So with my stash of yarn and my favorite hook,,, I whipped up two more Owl Hats last night!  I couldn’t resist making a patriotic one!  If you like this hat,,, The pattern is available at Repeat Crafter Me.  While your are there… Check out all of her patterns!

A Crocheter’s Dozen…

..

Last night I worked on just a few more items for the Artwalk… I tried to think of something I could make several of in just a couple of hours… Hmmm,,, Bracelets…  So, after I finished up my latest rug that I started the day before,,, I got to work on the bracelets!  I was inspired by a pattern I found at feltedbutton.com and decided to whip up a Crocheter’s Dozen of my modified version… You may wonder why I am calling it a Crocheter’s Dozen… Well, I couldn’t stop at just 12, so I made 14…  I wanted a good variety of colors and that’s what I ended up with!!  Baker’s add one to their dozen,,, So why not add two for us crocheter’s!

These bracelet’s are made from Cotton Yarn and a Size I Hook…   I used single crochet in the same pattern stitch as the one from Felted Button.  I added the button instead of a clasp and the loop at the end to go over the button.  Her pattern is easy to follow and I like the idea of the clasp,,, I just didn’t have any… So I winged it!  Each bracelet only took a few minutes and on a scale of 1-10,,  1 Easy-10 Very Hard,,, These are definitely a 1!

.

I also wanted to share the other project I finished up last night.  I have been making Rag Rugs for years and I love them so much… They are fairly simple to make and hold up great!  This Rug is 32″ across and is easy care…  Just wash and dry in your machine!   This rug took just a few hours and I was happy with the results!
