Simple repetitive stitching and the self striping yarn does all the work for you!! Best of all this is another Free Crochet Pattern!

Materials:
2 Caron Cakes in Blueberry Kiwi(or your favorite color) total 765 yards worsted weight yarn
K Hook
Stitches:
Ch – Chain Sl St – Slip Stitch Sp – Space St – Stitch Sk – Skip Sc – Single Crochet Dc – Double Crochet Trc – Treble Crochet

Cluster Stitch: *YO, insert hook in specified st and draw up loop, YO, draw through 2 loops on hook*, repeat 3 more times, YO, draw through all 5 loops on hook.

70″ x 21″ after blocking
Instructions:
Part 1~
Make 145 Foundation Sc
Row 1: Ch 3(counts as dc now and throughout), turn, dc in each st across. = 145 dc
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. = 145 sc
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st st, *ch 3, sk 2 sts, cluster in next st, ch 3, sk 2 sts, sc in next st*, repeat *to* across. = 25 sc, 48 ch 3, 24 clusters
Row 4, Ch 5(counts as dc + 2sts now and throughout), turn, sc in top of next cluster, *ch 2, dc in next sc, ch 2, sc in top of next cluster*, Repeat *to* across, ch 2, dc in last st. =25 dc, 48 ch 2, 24 sc
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, *sc in dc, 2 sc in next ch 2sp, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next ch 2sp*, repeat *to* across ending with a sc in the 3rd ch of the ch 5. = 145 sc
Rows 6-45: Repeat rows 1-5
Row 46: Repeat row 1
Row 47: Repeat row 2
Finish off
Part 2~ Only done on one edge
Working along one of the short edges of the shawl in the end of the rows –
Join with sl st in the side of the last st worked in row 47,
Row 1: Ch 1, sc 67 sts evenly across the end of rows to the opposite edge. = 67 sc
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in each st across. = 67 dc
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. = 67 sc
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st st, *ch 3, sk 2 sts, cluster in next st, ch 3, sk 2 sts, sc in next st*, repeat *to* across. = 12 sc, 11 clusters, 22 ch3 sp
Row 5: Ch 5(counts as dc + 2sts now and throughout), turn, sc in top of next cluster, *ch 2, dc in next sc, ch 2, sc in top of next cluster*, Repeat *to* across, ch 2, dc in last st. = 12 dc, 11 sc, 22 ch2 sp
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, *sc in dc, 2 sc in next ch 2sp, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next ch 2sp*, repeat *to* across ending with a sc in the 3rd ch of the ch 5. = 67 sc
Rows 7 – 31: Repeat rows 2-6
Row 32: Repeat row 2
Row 33: Repeat row 3
Row 34: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st st, *sk 2 sts, 5trc shell in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st*, repeat *to* across. = 12 sc & 11 5trc shells.
Finish off
Lay out into shape and block
