Gauge pattern ~

  1. Ch 15, turn, sc in each st across = 14 sc
  2. Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st st, sk st, (sc,ch2,sc) in next st, *sk 2 sts, (sc,ch2,sc) in next st*, repeat * * 2 more times, sk st, sc in last st. = 4 ch 2 sp, 2 sc
  3. Ch 3(counts as dc), turn, 3 dc in next ch 2 sp and each across, dc in last st. = 4 3dc shells, 2 dc
  4. Repeat 2 & 3  three more times.

This should measure 4″ wide by 3″ long, if not close please try other size crochet hooks to obtain gauge.

Tips:

Make sure to check gauge or your wrap my not fit

By blocking the project, your garment will increase in size a bit and lay much nicer

If you choose to use different yarn, your wrap may not turn out exactly as designed.

Ties ~

As same end as you finished off, you will be working down the side rows from the waist.

First tie ~

Join yarn in the same st as you finished off.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc 4 sts evenly down the first 1″-1 1/2″ of the side row.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc across. = 4 sc

Repeat row 2 until the tie measures 40″ from the beginning of row 1. Finish off

Second tie ~

Join yarn on opposite side of waist in the same manner.

Repeat rows 1 & 2 for 12″. Finish off

Weave in ends.

Finishing ~

It is important to block this project.  You can use either the wet or steam method.

Finished size ~

Waist 43″ approx       Hips 48″ approx        Length 17″ approx

How to change the sizing

To change the sizing of this project you can decrease or increase the beginning chain by increments of 3, it is approximately 1″ per 3dc shell which is an increment of 3. Your end stitch count will change so note the amount you increase or decrease and add or subtract that to the end of each row for the totals.  The ties can remain the same… but you can also make them longer or shorter as desired.

Congratulations… You now have and Amazing Grace Bathing Suit Wrap!!!

Amazing Grace Bathing Suit Wrap... Free Pattern

To wear ~

Bring skirt around your back, have even amounts of the waist(not including the ties) on each side. With the longer tail, wrap it around your front and insert the end of the tie from the inside of the skirt through to the outside. Pull tail through. Wrap the long tail around the waistband around your back and tie it to the short ended tail.  Adjust the skirt  to the desired position.

And of course my faithful helper always love to get in the picture…..
