Market Bag Mania

Market Bag Mania

Are you ready for the upcoming season of Farmer’s Market’s??  Soon the season will be here where in our communities the markets will be getting under way!

I have been working solely on children’s items the last few weeks to prepare for the art walk here in town… I was so ready to move on to something new… Something I had never made in my crochet career.  I wanted to make something quick and easy,  no pattern required…. So, I browsed crochet sites and sifted through my stash to get some fresh ideas… A MARKET BAG… Yes, I have always wanted one and knew it would be easy and quick! I had plenty of cotton yarn to complete at least 1 or 2 bags!

My Newest Creation,,, A Market Bag…

It has a solid Single Crochet bottom and Triple Crochet mesh sides.  In just a couple of hours it was done… It is large, the picture doesn’t do it justice!  The bag itself is about 18″-20″ tall the base is 12″-14″ across.  From my shoulder it hangs mid-thigh with nothing in it… Perfect for a big shopping trip…  It would bring home a lot of yarn!

But like most crocheter’s, I decided to not keep this great creation… So off it goes to Alpine Originals for some other lucky shopper!  I couldn’t just make one of course… So, the base of a coral one is already started!

So here is to Crochet and Market Bags…

Week 2..National Crochet Month… A Peek At The Next Free Pattern

Week 2..National Crochet Month… A Peek At The Next Free Pattern

It’s National Crochet Month,,, Week 2…  I am so excited to be working on my next pattern to be published here on my site and on  later this week!

I live in a very small town and crochet supplies are hard to come by… I needed some new yarn to work on this project and my new pattern.  This go around I was able to find what I needed for a reasonable price at  and it arrived at my home yesterday…  It was so exciting to open a box and see new skeins of yarn to add to my stash!

Some great yarn to start a new project…

I started my project right away… So excited to write a new pattern and make my newest item to deliver later this week to the shop.  This month our town will re-start the once a month Art Walk.  The theme at Alpine Originals (the shop where I sell) is Children… So they will be highlighting all the artists (including me) and all the children’s items they make… I am busy making extra kids items just for this event!  Hint…. The next FREE PATTERN is in this category…

A little preview of the next FREE PATTERN

Stay tuned in the next couple days for more on this Pattern and pictures of this project.  It is sweet and soft and just right for a little angel to snuggle…

So here is to Projects, Patterns and National Crochet Month!
