Materials ~

Yarn ~ 250 yards worsted weight (4) yarn – I used Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable in Cappuccino

Hook ~ E hook or hook to obtain gauge

Fun Boots!!

Stitches~

 Sp – Space     Sk – Skip    St – Stitch     Sl St – Slip Stitch     Ch – Chain     Sc – Single Crochet     Dc – Double Crochet     FPdc – Front Post Double Crochet     BPdc – Back Post Double Crochet

Gauge ~ 

15 dc x 7 rows = 3″ x 3″

Tips ~

*In this pattern you will be working in the round.

*When joining rows 2-5, you will join around the “top” of the ch 3 and not “in” the top of ch 3. this will make the beginning st of each round look like a FPdc.

*This fits an average size leg and is made to be stretchy.  Ribbing 11 1/2″, Mid section 12 1/2″ both unstretched. Fits 16 1/2″ size calf comfortably.

*To increase or decrease the size you can use increments of 3


Instructions~ 

Make 2

Ch 51, join with sl st to form a ring. Be very careful not to twist your chain.

Round 1:  Ch 3(counts as dc now and throughout), dc in each ch around. Join to top of ch 3 with sl st. = 51 dc

Rounds 2-5:  Ch 3, FPdc around next st, BPdc around next st, *FPdc around next 2 sts, BPdc around next st*, repeat * * around. Join around top of ch 3. =51 sts

Round 6:  Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st to beginning sc. = 51 sts

Round 7:  Ch 1, (sc,ch2,sc) in 1st st, ch 1, sk 2 sts, *(sc,ch2,sc) in next st, ch 1, sk 2 sts*, Repeat * * around. Join with sl st to the beginning sc. = 17 ch2 sps

Round 8:  Sl st into the center of the 1st ch2 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in the same ch2 sp, 3 dc in each ch2 sp around. Join with sl st in the top of the beginning ch 3. = 17 3dc shells

Round 9:  Sl st into the next st(this is the center st of the 3dc in the previous row), ch 1, (sc,ch2,sc) in 1st st, ch 1, sk 2 sts, *(sc,ch2,sc) in next st, ch 1, sk 2 sts*, Repeat * * around. Join with sl st to the beginning sc. = 17 ch2 sps

Rounds 10-15:  Repeat rounds 8 and 9 two more times.

Round 16:  *Increase Round* Sl st into the center of the 1st ch2 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in the same ch2 sp, 4 dc in each ch2 sp around. Join with sl st in the top of the beginning ch 3. = 17 4dc shells

Round 17:  Ch 1, sc in the 1st st, ch 3, sk st, sc in the next st*, repeat * * around. Join with sl st to beginning sc. = 42 ch 3 sps

Finish off and weave ends in

Congratulations!!! You now have a pair of Amazing Grace Boot Cuffs!!

Here we are… Week 10 of our Crochet with Me!! Crochet-A-Long!!

By the time you are finished with this weeks assignment… You will be done with the entire length of the afghan!!  All we will have left is the two side panels and the simple edging!!  So exciting!! This week’s housekeeping tips…. Well, there isn’t anything important to share… Just keep up the good work!!  This weeks assignment is just doing the last 20 rows and you already have done these in week 2!!  Remember that even rows are on the right side!

Now… Let’s get started!!

Instructions:

Change to Color “A”

Row 164:  Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. =152 sc

Row 165:  Ch 2, turn, FLhdc in each across. = 152 FLhdc

Rows 166-169:  Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across. = 152 hdc

Change to Color “B”

Row 170:  Ch 1, turn, BLsc in each st across.  = 152 BLsc

Change to Color “A”

Row 171: Ch 1, turn, FLsc in each st across. = 152 FLsc

Change to Color “C”

Row 172:  Ch 1, turn, BLsc in each st across.  = 152 BLsc

Change to Color “A”

Row 173: Ch 1, turn, FLsc in each st across. = 152 FLsc

Change to Color “B”

Row 174:  Ch 1, turn, BLsc in each st across.  = 152 BLsc

Change to Color “A”

Row 175: Ch 1, turn, FLsc in each st across. = 152 FLsc

Row 176: Ch 2, turn, BLhdc in each st across. = 152 BLhdc

Row 177:  Ch 1, turn;  Sk 1st sc, (sc,dc) in the next st; *sk next st, (sc,dc) in next st*; Repeat * * across. = 152 sts

Row 178:  Ch 1, turn; (sc,dc) in each sc from the previous row across, you will sk working in the dc sts. = 152 sts

Row 179-182:  Repeat row 178 four more times.

Row 183: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. = 152 sc

Do not finish off… We will continue with color A next week!!

That’s it!!!  You have now completed the length of your afghan!!

My length at the end of this week is approximately 77″ unblocked… And the only part that will add to the length is the simple edging!!

As I stitch the last quarter of the afghan,,, I am reminiscing over the stitches we have used in this project!!  As you can now see on the final stretch, we are working backwards towards the end of the length of this fun afghan…  Only a couple more weeks and we will add the sides and the border!!


 

Crochet with Me!! 2016 Week 9


 

To make this size afghan, we are pushing a bit each week to complete a certain amount of rows to be able to finish in the 12 week time frame…  I know some of you may feel a bit overwhelmed and have fallen behind, but no worries!!!  The project posts are staying on the site and you will be able to keep working!!  I totally get time crunches,,, I work at my “regular” job 45-50 hours a week… do all the stuff us ladies do around the house and try to crochet as much as I can!!  I put several hours a week into this project, both in the crochet part, the design elements, the website and keeping up on the social media to encourage all of you to participate with me….  Soooooooo…..

As a big Thank You and a bit of encouragement not to let this project get tucked away and not finished….. I have a special GiveAway…  For each of you that finish the project in the designated time frame listed below, and who Email me a picture of your completed afghan… You will be entered in a special prize drawing!!  Here are the rules…

  1. Complete this afghan as directed (small personal variations are ok… like color changes, width of the final piece and the border style).
  2. Email me a picture of the fully completed afghan by April 8th, 2016 at 11:59 pm to [email protected].
  3. Include in your email permission to allow me to post your picture on my site and my social media sites with your first name an last initial.
  4. If you are the winner of the prize drawing, provide a mailing address once contacted as the winner

The winner will be chosen by using a Number Randomizer on the internet. Each entry will be assigned a number as the email entry is received.  Once all valid entries are received, I will use the number randomizer to choose the winner and announce who won on Saturday April 9th, 2016!!!!

Instructions:

Change to Color “A”

Row 143:   Ch 1, turn, sc in the 1st 2 sts, ch 2, skip 2 sts, sc in the next st, *ch 5, sk 5 sts, sc in the next st*, Repeat * * across to the last 3 sts, ch 2, sk 2 sts, sc int he last st. = 24 ch5 spaces, 2 ch2 spaces and 28 sc.

Change to Color “C”

Row 144:  Ch 1, turn, sc in the 1st st, *5dc shell in the  next sc (skipping the chain), sc around the chain into the 3rd dc of the previous rows shell*, Repeat * * Across, sc in the last 2 sts. = 25 shells, 27 sc

Change to Color “A”

Row 145:  Ch 1, turn, sc in the 1st 2 sts, *ch 5, sk the 5dc shell, sc in the next sc*, Repeat * * across = 25 ch5, 27 sc

Change to Color “B”

Row 146:  Ch 3, 2 dc in the same st, * sc around the chain into the 3rd dc of the previous rows shell (See picture 1 at the bottom), 5dc shell in the next sc*, Repeat * * across to the last ch5 space, sc around the chain and into the 3rd dc from the previous row shell,  3 dc in the next sc, dc in the last sc.  = 24 5dc shells, 2 3dc shells, 1 dc, 25 sc

Rows 147-150: Repeat rows 143-146 (changing colors as directed again)

Row 151: Staying with Color “B”, ch 1, turn sc in the next 4 sts, hdc in the next st(this will be a sc), *sc in the next 5 sts(the shell sts), hdc in the next st*, Repeat * * across, sc in the last 3 dc’s. = 152 sts

Change to Color “A”

Row 152-155: Ch 2, Turn, hdc in each st across.  = 152 hdc

Row 156:  Ch 1, Turn, sc across. = 152 sc

Change to Color “C”

Row 157: Ch 1, turn, flsc(front loop single crochet) in each st across. = 152 flsc

Change to Color “B”

Row 158:   Ch 1, Turn, sc in the same st and the next st, *trc in next st,(make  sure to push to the front), sc in next 2 sts*, repeat * * across. = 152 sts (102 sc & 50 trc)  ** This is the RS of your project**

Change to Color “C”

Row 159:  Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. = 152 sts

Row 160: Ch 3(counts as dc now and throughout), turn, * sk next 2 sts, trc in the next st, ch 1, trc in 1st sk st (see photo tutorial) “X” stitch made*, repeat * * across to the last st, dc in last st. = 152 sts (2 dc, 50 “X” sts)

Row 161:  Ch 1, turn, sc in each st and ch 1 space across. = 152 sts

Change to Color “B”

Row 162:   Ch 1, Turn, sc in the same st and the next st, *trc in next st, sc in next 2 sts*, repeat * * across. = 152 sts (102 sc & 50 trc)

Change to Color “C”

Row 163: Ch 1, sc in each st across. =152 sc
