I have been keeping a secret!!! Are you ready??

If you love to crochet and want to have some fun with a great group of yarn-a-holics… Join me in a really fun, summertime Crochet Along…

Lion Brand Yarn has asked me (wow… double wow) to host a very special Crochet Along for them over on their website… And best of all… YOU GET TO JOIN ME!!!!

Over the next 2 weeks you can vote for one of the four patterns they have selected for us to make this summer… Then starting later this month they will announce the winning pattern and in July… We will get crocheting…

Once the Lion Brand Yarn Crochet Along has started you will follow along with me on their blog… Don’t worry… I will post the link right here each week!!! They will have tons of ways for us all to stay connected during this event…

Summer Day’s Baby Blanket

Sweet and Colorful ~ Summer Day’s Baby Blanket is just right to wrap a precious baby in for mild summer days. This Free Crochet Pattern uses cotton yarn to make it even more comfortable for the warmer days too!!

This sweet blanket pictured above if made in cotton yarn, but soft acrylic yarn would be great too!! It measures 32″ x 36″.

Materials

Cotton or Acrylic Yarn (pictured above is cotton yarn) 550 Yards White Cotton Yarn, 100 Yards each of Purple, Lime Green, Tangerine and 150 Yards of Aqua.

J Hook

Scissors

Stitches

St ~ Stitch Sp ~ Space Sk ~ Skip Sl St ~ Slip Stitch Ch ~ Chain Sc~ Single Crochet Hdc ~ Half Double Crochet Dc ~ Double Crochet FPCluster ~ Front Post Cluster

*Front Post Cluster ~ *YO, Draw up a loop around the front post of Dc in previous row, YO, Draw through 2 loops* Repeat * * 2 more time, YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

**Tip** The Right Side will have the FPCluster bump on the front side.

Approximate Size 24″ x 42″

Materials ~

Premier Yarns Craft-Tee Recycled T-Shirt Yarn, Super Bulky, 275-300 yards. Pictured above in Light Green Shades, Red Shades, White Shades and Light Blue Shades.

*You can also use 1 1/2″ – 2″ strips of cotton fabric. You will need approximately 11 yards of fabric that is 44″ wide.

Q Hook

Thread and Needle

Scissors

Tips

Use a loose and even tension. Sew tails down with thread and needle as you work and crochet over the top of them after tacked down.
