Monday Makings… A new look and lots of crochet coming you way!!

I didn’t get much crocheting accomplished.. Over the weekend I was busily working on the website making the new changes.. Many things are still the same, but I did change the theme slightly which changed the top of the site and the boxes the posts are in… Also some of the advertising is positioned a little differently… You may wonder why I have had advertising in the past and why it will be added this time too… Running a website isn’t free and it helps off set the cost of the website and the costs of designing and publishing my free patterns…

One of the best upgrades in my opinion,,, besides the cute theme… Is the Print Friendly button at the bottom of each post… This nice little button will make it very easy for you to print out my patterns without all the other pieces of the website… You click on it and it takes you to a screen with the page you are wanting to print…

Look for this button at the bottom of each page!

This is one of my favorite tools!!

Here is what you can do with Print Friendly…

1. Print

2. Make a PDF

3. Send it as an email

4. Delete the sections you don’t want to print… Very customizable!!

A few other changes I like….

At the bottom of each post there is a section of “Related Posts“, This hopefully is a fun way for you to get to know me and see posts from the past you may want to read!!

In the Sidebar... I will be making some changes… one is my Twitter Feed is now in place… If you like twitter.. check it out…

Pinterest... If you love Pinterest.. As always you can click on the button at the bottom of each post to pin one of my pictures.. But now… You can hover over the picture and you will find a Pin It button there too!!!

I will be fussing with the site for a bit… so please still be patient!!

Now on to the CROCHET!! I have been working on a new pattern… I didn’t quit finish it this weekend as planned… Hopefully this week!! Here is another sneak peek…

Monday Makings and Crochet Pattern Review…

I can’t imagine a week without crochet!!! This last week I have had many hours to sit and create… I love to design new projects and one of my favorite things to design has been my Amazing Grace Series!! I am working on the 8th pattern in the series, if you have been following then you know.. It is a Baby Blanket!! If you are new to Beatrice Ryan Designs or don’t really know the back story of this Amazing Grace Series… I have dedicated these patterns to Breast Cancer Awareness and my dearest friend Sandra Kay Gilb who passed away in 2007 from this disease! The same stitch pattern is used in all of the projects designed in the series.. Now that I have several patterns in the series, I have expanded my dedication to making these patterns for all cancer types and anyone who is suffering or recovering from a major illness. My hope is that if you love one of these patterns,,, You might make and donate one of your projects to the cause! These patterns are for personal use too and I hope you enjoy making some for yourself or as gifts!!

Next up… A quick little pattern review… I am always wanting to make a quick fun project designed by someone else… So this week I made this adorable little Hedgehog.. This is a Red Heart Pattern and it is free… It was fun to make and I think any little one would love receiving this cute, soft toy!! Click Here for the pattern!!

And, I can’t resist showing you another picture of my favorite dog,,, Charlie… He is always with me when I am trying to photograph my projects… He posed for this one just after I took the pictures of the Amazing Grace Baby Blanket…

Throw Back Thursday Crochet… One year ago today!!

On year ago today I posted about my second True Colors Afghan… You can read the short post Here! My Grandson still loves his True Colors Afghan which was the first one I made!!

1st True Colors Afghan…

The post goes on to chat about the second one I was getting ready to join… Funny, I put it away and haven’t finished it yet… Do any of you do that… Yep… A year later and it is halfway joined!! I need to get this great afghan out and finish it up!!!

Here are the squares ready to go… I have started joining them with black yarn… It probably wont take long to finish!!! Why do we put projects away??

I also posted about finishing up a great hat I was working on Southern and Sassy Summer Hat by ELK Studio Handcrafted Crochet Designs… Kathy is currently giving away some of her patterns for free for a short time and this great hat is one of the hats on the list!!! Hop over and get the code!!

I did finish this project… Yay, and I loved the way this hat turned out… What do you think!!
